yoga retreats

Retreats are lead by long-time, national yoga teacher and retreat leader Cathy Woods. The following retreats are expertly designed for Lakeview at Fontana to compliment our style. Weekend retreats begin on a Friday afternoon and conclude late morning on the following Sunday.

If you like yoga class ...you will love yoga retreat. It is important to know that Cathy Woods Yoga retreats at Lakeview, are much more than practicing yoga postures for the entire weekend. All levels are welcome, including new comers to the practice. These are not esoteric teachings of yoga, but rich, clear, concise, practical practices that can be easily applied to enhance living. Keep in mind our retreats are not “yoga intensives” and time is allotted for rest, reflection, wine & cheese & meals. Spa treatments and rooms are booked separately. You may even consider adding a day or two to the beginning or end of retreat to have your “own retreat” and explore our beautiful area. Retreats are an opportunity to immerse yourself in the full practice of yoga with like minded friends and enrich your life!;

Please note that dinners are not included with our yoga retreats. We recommend the following local restaurants, and offer several suites with kitchenettes for your convenience. Optional group dinner offered with other retreat participants at nearby restaurant (dutch treat).

Yoga R&R is an opportunity to explore the ancient and beneficial practice of yoga in more depth.  In this retreat we explore:  Yoga postures: Deep guided relaxation:  Breath-work: Workshop topics such as: How to bring more joy into your life:  Practical practices to reduce stress and induce relaxation: Handout to help bring your lessons home. The goal of this program is to rest, renew, rejuvenate and learn valuable practices to assist in a more relaxed & aware way of living.
 

Living Yoga

Living Yoga teaches the metaphors of yoga and how they can be applied to ALL that you do…on and off the mat. Many think yoga is just a series of stretches done on a mat, but that is just a limited portion of the true practice.  There is the yoga of life, the awareness we bring to our daily activities. In this workshop, we will explore, yoga postures, meditation, breath-work, workshop, discussion and hand outs.  You will leave with a fuller understanding of yoga practice and how the metaphors can be applied to daily life to enrich living.
